Membership

Membership of the Society is through subscription and runs for a period of 12 months from the date of applilication.

Members will receive a password to access the members pages on the website, details of which are shown on the home page.
A great deal of research can be achieved through these online resources.

The Society's magazine 'Sib Folk News', published every 3 months will be posted out to our Members unless they have 'Opted Out' of receiving a printed copy - our magazine is available for online viewing/downloading on our website.

The Society will also do research (through the local resources in Orkney) on behalf of it's members.
This is undertaken, at no charge, by our team of volunteers, this is done in their own free time so please be patient.
Any costs incurred, such as fees for certificates, will need to be reimbursed by the member.

The membership categories and subscription rates (as from 1st Sept 2013) are as follows:

£10.00 1 Standard - All UK Membership and Members abroad who opt out of receiving a printed copy of our magazine
£15.00 2 Overseas - (surface mail)
£18.00 3 Overseas - (air mail)

*Note
Overseas members who elect to pay the Standard Membership will NOT receive a posted copy of the magazine, this is available for online viewing / downloading from the website.
